Transforming a Room in the Basement into a Garage

Transforming a room in the basement into a Garage

Some property owners are in need of additional storage space in their homes, especially when outside land is limited. A creative solution may be to transform a room in the basement into a garage, which is what one resourceful homeowner did. He removed his walk-out basement’s patio door and replaced it with a garage door measuring 6’10” wide by 6’6” high. He even added an electronic garage door opener.

The homeowner doesn’t use the space for his car, but rather to store his motorcycle, his snowmobile and other items he wishes to keep protected from the elements.

In order to meet the building code standards, it was necessary to properly insulate the walls and ceiling of the new garage.

Garaga offers so many choices when it comes to garage door sizes. They can make a door as small as 4 feet wide by 6 feet high. If you are looking for a very large door, one can be made up to 20 feet wide. And don’t worry; the door will even be high enough for your RV. Garaga can meet all of your needs.

To give your garage door a personal touch, we suggest adding windows. In this example, we have Garaga’s “Panoramic” model which allow lots of natural light. If you would like more privacy, Garaga can install windows with tinted or satin glass. All windows are tempered on both sides to ensure the most safety for the home’s residents.
