Excellence in effect with A-1 Overhead Door Systems. Starting with their easy online quote / simulator you can build up several different versions of garage door packages. They'll also come to your home and assess your needs then send along as many as (5) different quotes. Once we were ready we placed our order online made the down payment and received confirmation. After A-1 placed the order with their manufacturer they notified us and scheduled the install approximately 4 weeks later. The installation was on time starting mid-morning. One person completed a full install/replacement of two standard sized garage doors in one day. The doors themselves are great! The motor is super quiet with a diffused LED light ring that lights up the garage pretty well and the app control is cool. The app is pretty flexible with being able to set up notifications open and closed doors remotely & showing some video of any activity going on in the garage from the on board camera. The control panel at the entrance to our house is nice, it has a backlight screen that includes an alternating readout of the temperature and the time. Each garage door system included (2) vehicle remotes which they program for you. The range on these is very good (tested up to ~ 500ft so far); much farther than my old opener. Also includes a exterior access pad. Also, it's easy to program your vehicle's garage door opener by following the vehicle manufacturer's instructions. The system easily detects movement the moment someone enter the garage space environment from any direction and instantly turns on both LED lights. Like all garage doors they also come with the safety features one would expect and the typical release cord. Lastly A-1 ODS handles disposal of the old doors and hardware. Highly recommended! A couple years ago we needed our badly worn garage door springs replaced and A-1 performed the repair and replacement. It was a very good experience overall, and the repair was a very fair price. So, when it was finally time to upgrade, A-1 was the obvious choice. Recently we had two brand new garage doors installed along with new openers and the entire process was great. The sales rep Chuck was very helpful and informative. When it came to the installation, Matt was our installer and he did a fantastic job. Extremely professional and courteous. It's rare to get such high-quality service at a fair price nowadays. If you live anywhere within their service area, I highly recommend contacting A-1 first for anything garage door related, whether it's for a minor repair or a full installation.

Intstall was quick easy, professional, and on time. The garage door opener I was was sold was marketed as "ultra quiet." This was a very expensive model. After install I found this unit is noticeably louder than my 8 year old belt driven garage door opener that I bought from A1. I rated 3 stars because I wish I would have been told this one was louder than my current opener. This opener is similar to the volume of a chain driven opener. New opener is a model lift master 6690 / old model is a lift master elite 8550W

The tech, Mr. Beers was awesome. The job came out flawless. Mr. Beers went above and beyond to clean up all the messy wiring from my old motor. He walked me thru the on line app and was very helpful. For a guy who has been doing this work for 29 years, he showed the enthusiasm of a new guy. A-1 is lucky to have such an amazing worker.

Very professional and knowledgeable. All options and pricing were explained during the initial (free) visit for measuring and working up a quote. It took a while for the doors to come in from the factory, but they were installed in one day and Chuck followed up nicely and even scheduled a time to come inspect the job himself and check for any issues after we had a chance to use them for a while. Best customer service I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommended.

Good and friendly service at a reasonable price; only challenges were disconnects in backend communication that required a second visit. When booking the service appointment I shared photos and ensured an accurate description of the problem was captured - my garage door would not open due to a frayed pulley cable and a roller that fell out of a rusted track. I was told a tech would arrive to address both issues and I provided a measurement of the track height. The first tech arrived without track and was under the impression I had a torsion spring issue rather than a cable issue. The frayed cable was replaced and I was asked to book a second visit (fortunately with no additional service call fee) to replace the rusted track. The first tech mentioned it would probably be him returning, and that he would lubricate the door on the return service to avoid excessive mess. The second tech arrived in a different vehicle under the Thompson brand, and immediately assuaged concerns I had regarding billing and service. He pointed out that the first tech left the frayed cable in my driveway, and that I did not need to replace any rollers (which the first tech recommended). I asked him to lubricate the door on this service as the last tech did not - he did, but noted this should have been done during the first service regardless of the return visit. For both of these appointments a text reminder went out a day in advance with a service window and note to expect another text when the tech was on route; in both cases the tech arrived just after the appointment window without a text notification. I had to hand off a meeting I was conducting because of this, but could have prepared accordingly with better notice. Overall very pleased with the quality of work, just some quirks with communication that could have made the service smoother and save them a return visit.
